Project Description
Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) is Indonesia’s future new capital city, located in Kalimantan Timur. The project is designed with a smart city concept that emphasizes technology, renewable energy, and environmentally friendly urban planning. The first phase of the IKN Solar Power Plant began operations in 2024 with a 10 MWp capacity feeding into the local grid. An expansion was then followed to a total of 70 MWp with an integrated 14.2 MWh BESS, positioning it as Indonesia’s first co-located solar-plus-BESS installation dedicated to powering the new capital.
As a form of shared commitment to supporting Indonesia’s clean energy vision for its new capital city, Syntek has been awarded the opportunity to serve as the O&M provider for this landmark project, fully managing the O&M of the entire 70 MWp solar power plant (with 14.2 MWh BESS) at IKN. Our team of experienced and certified engineers and technicians are stationed on-site to carry out continuous preventive maintenance, ensuring that the plant consistently meets its performance parameters, such as performance ratio and system availability. In addition to the technical team, dedicated security personnel are also deployed to safeguard the facility around the clock, maintaining the integrity and safety of the plant. All personnel perform their duties with diligence and professionalism, adhering strictly to industry and safety standards (IEC, ISO, ICS, KEPDIR PLN) to guarantee reliable operations and long-term performance of the solar PV plant.
Being entrusted with this responsibility represents a significant achievement for Syntek, reflecting the company’s proven expertise and track record in large-scale renewable energy operations. This milestone was made possible through strong collaboration and trust built with key stakeholders, including PLN, PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) and PT Nusantara Sembcorp Solar Energi (Sembcorp), ensuring a foundation of reliable partnership to support the sustainable energy goals.
