Project Description

Syntek Energy & Control has successfully completed the integration of 326 CBO (Circuit Breaker Operated) distribution substations into the Master SCADA system of PT PLN (Persero) UP2D Greater Jakarta. Completed on December 10, 2024, the project represents a significant milestone in strengthening distribution network automation and supporting the digital transformation of Indonesia’s electrical infrastructure.

Supporting Smarter Distribution Network Operations

As electricity distribution networks continue to evolve toward greater digitalization, utilities require advanced monitoring and control systems capable of delivering real-time operational visibility. To address this need, Syntek implemented an integrated communication and monitoring solution that connects 326 CBO substations across West and East Jakarta to the UP2D Master SCADA platform.

The integration was achieved through the deployment of Modem Concentrator technology, enabling seamless communication between field devices and the centralized SCADA system. By integrating CBOG Protection Relays installed at distribution substations, operational data can now be monitored remotely and continuously from a central control center.

Enhancing Network Reliability Through SCADA Integration

The successful integration of these substations strengthens PLN’s ability to monitor distribution network conditions, detect disturbances more accurately, and respond to operational events more efficiently. Real-time data acquisition and centralized supervision improve situational awareness, allowing operators to make informed decisions and reduce outage response times.

This enhanced SCADA infrastructure contributes directly to improved power system reliability, better asset visibility, and faster restoration processes during network disturbances, supporting PLN’s commitment to delivering reliable electricity services to customers throughout the Greater Jakarta area.

Syntek’s Commitment to Distribution Automation

The completion of this project reflects Syntek Energy & Control’s expertise in delivering utility-scale SCADA integration and distribution automation solutions. By leveraging advanced communication technologies and industry best practices, Syntek continues to support power utilities in building smarter, more resilient, and digitally connected electrical networks.

As Indonesia advances toward a modern and intelligent power grid ecosystem, Syntek remains committed to providing innovative automation, monitoring, and control solutions that enable utilities to achieve greater operational efficiency and long-term network reliability.
