SCADA & Power Plant Controller for Medco 25 MWp On-Grid Solar Power Plant, East Bali

Syntek Energy & Control has been entrusted with the development of monitoring and control systems to support the operation of renewable energy in Indonesia.

In this project, Syntek provided the SCADA panel and integration across transformer stations (1 main SCADA panel & 3 transformer stations), with a scope of work covering electrical pre-commissioning, panel commissioning, and SCADA commissioning.

The system is equipped with a Power Plant Controller (PPC) capable of controlling and regulating the 25 MWp on-grid solar power plant, while also supporting communication with the substation through the IEC61850 protocol.

As Syntek’s first project implementing an On-Grid PPC for a large-scale solar power plant, the main challenge lay in meeting execution timelines and integrating new technologies. However, the outcome enables the client to efficiently monitor and control solar power plant equipment in real-time through the SCADA system.

The Medco 25 MWp Solar Power Plant in East Bali marks a significant step forward in supporting Indonesia’s renewable energy mix and strengthening environmentally friendly power systems.
